Styled Wedding Shoot at Sorenson Estate

Sorenson Estate’s lush 400 acres offer no shortage of photographic possibility. As summer approaches, the location grows even more whimsical with the rustling of foliage and, of course, its gorgeous home. Located right off of the circular drive, the heart of Sorenson stands teeming over its land in a manner that seems somewhat regal. It was this boldness that inspired me to shoot with one of the most wonderfully forthright people I have encountered to date, Paula Herrera-Gudiño. Needless to say, she came to serve. And serve, she did.

Shortly after the makeup artist, Maggie, packed up her impressively large kit, we found that this home had a hidden gem. Just around the corner from the getting-ready-room sat the best bathroom inspo in all the land. Teal tile the color of an Americana egg. Of course we had to get some shots…

Even inside of the home, we encounter an endless array of photo settings. We grabbed a few more shots of Paula inside and some of our male model, James, as well.

WOW. At this point we hadn’t even been outside yet and I had already taken roughly 100 pictures. Armed with excitement, we ran outside to get some photos.

And of course there were the details! For this shoot we settled with warm neutral tones with pops of orange and teal. With a little help from Ophelia’s Flowers, we pulled it all together with rich colored florals, that for some reason exude the same energy of a fine glass of red wine.

As we waited patiently for the sun to go down, we grabbed some bridal pictures of Paula. Thanks to Vows Bridal Boutique, my vintage vision came to life with touches of delicate lace and a train longer than my middle name.

Velvet upholstered chairs, courtesy of Pretty Little Things Vintage Rentals, added a glamorous element rivaled only by the model, herself.

And arguably the best part, this decadent cake by Trish’s very own Flour Power, offered a subtle taste of banana that paired well after the shoot with our celebratory champagne.

At last the sun was setting and it was time to quickly snag some couples pictures while the sky was still showing out. Although Paula and James had never met before, their working chemistry was impressive and they exceeded all expectations. We set up our terracotta colored arbor, provided by A-1 Party Rentals, and went to work.

By this time we were both finished and famished. So we had some yummy Waves cider, and went inside for cake.

As we parted ways at the end of the night, I felt a rush of grattitude. The opportunity to work with so many wonderful people not only had given life to my dream, but also helped me achieve a level of professional confidence that has rippled throughout my business and life as a whole. A huge shoutout to all who participated. May you all feel as glorious as Paula looks in this dress.
