Wichita KS Engagement Photography Session
Hi! I’m Olivia Strange, a wedding and engagement photographer located in Columbia, MO. Thanks to my amazing clients, I quite frequently get to travel around the midwest (and hopefully, someday, the world) taking photos that capture each couple’s unique dynamic. I recently had an engagement photography session in Wichita Kansas and OH WHAT FUN!! I mean LOOK at these two… I simply cannot wait for their wedding.
I hear a lot of people complain about the not so dazzling midwest terrain, and to be honest with you—when I first started my midwest wedding photography business, I was worried that the terrain would limit me creatively. Fortunately for both me and my clients—that has not been the case. If anything, it has forced me to become more creative AND to see the midwest in a completely new and beautiful way. Enter this Wichita KS parking garage photography session.
Make no mistake, the midwest offers a large variety of natural landscapes that make for great photography sessions. There are hugely happy sunflower fields, plains that stretch farther than I can fathom, and of course, beautiful rock bottom rivers. That said, I never miss an opportunity to participate in an urban photography shoot.
For this session, I had the couple meet me at the top of the Ambassador Parking Garage in Wichita around sunset. We used action based posing to loosen everyone up and make sure that what I was capturing was open to interpretation and allowed them to be authentically themselves.
The best part of this engagement photography session was when the bride-to-be’s sister brought the couple’s dogs for a few shots!!
Needless to say we had a blast. I loved getting to know these two and even learned that they both met at a nearby hospital where they are both currently working as doctors. They even brought their stethoscopes for some creative shots!
Shooting and editing this gallery filled me with joy. With the wedding less than two weeks ago, I can’t help but bubble with excitement. Here’s to the beautiful midwest and this rocking’ couple!!
